The Service Logistics (or the Aftersale Logistics) is a unique logistics field which is very different from regular logistics, which supports manufacturing. Service logistics deals with logistic support of a product after it had been sold to the client and up to the end of our obligation for service, mostly several years (7 years and more) and sometimes until our client puts the system out of use and/or in general. This field is relevant for companies which produce and/or sell Capital Goods which the client holds for a long time and which necessitate service for this duration, such as cars, printing machines, advanced communication systems, imaging instrumentation, planes and more.
Service logistics deals with spear parts management, handling and repair of malfunctioning parts, frontal logistics of bringing spare parts to clients, repair centers and warehouses and back logistics or reverse logistics. Spare parts management is also relevant for capital intensive plants with expensive equipment which need many spare parts.
Minet has executed complex projects in a global environment in the field of service logistics which included the abovementioned topics, including forecast models for spare parts, multi-annual equipment plans, handling EOL – End Of Life – items, spare parts suppliers’ relationships, service contracts, indexes and more.
We will be happy to hear details of your service logistics system and jointly achieve significant improvement in it – a higher service level and/or lower costs.
