The supply chain in modern organizations is vulnerable to risks. The possible risks keep growing and multiplying and their effects on the organization grow stronger as the supply chain grows more complicated, thinner, the organization’s number of business partners grows and the business world is more turbulent and less certain. The great vulnerability to risks causes small input, big output events – a small disruption to the supply chain can bring about serious damages in terms of revenues, profits and customer relationships.
